After experiencing a tragedy the likes of what Lauren from San Diego, CA faced, many would retreat from the world. Instead, the 21-year-old has chosen to defy odds and respond in a miraculous way. Her good natured attitude caused her Tinder dating profile to go viral with men loving how she deals with the fact that an accident left her with one arm.
About a year ago, Lauren’s life was changed forever after a moped crash and the ensuing amputation of her right arm. She explains what happened;
“I was going pretty fast on a moped and lost control of it, and I hit the median in the road. I flew off and hit a sign and it sliced my arm off. I stayed conscious the whole time. I remember I asked the cop, ‘Hey, am I gonna die?’ and he said, ‘No, you’ll be fine.’” Well, it turned out he was right. Her arm was badly injured but thanks to the officer knowing how to properly use a tourniquet, her life was saved.
After the accident she says she reacted naturally, hating any jokes, but fairly soon she realized the jokes helped. She said posting photos of herself since the accident and making jokes on social media have aided in her healing process and helped others as well.

“I have never really hid it. People don’t see that very often, so a lot of people DM me to tell me it’s really helpful to them, people who are also missing limbs or are disabled.”
Late last week after a night of drinking with her friends, she reportedly altered her Tinder dating profile. “I got home pretty drunk, and I don’t remember typing it up really. I just woke up to someone DM’ing me a Reddit post asking if it was me, and I was like damn, I guess it is.”

She had changed her occupation to “arms dealer” and posted that she is “hands down the best catch on Tinder.” She even rated herself with her arms getting a “½” and her personality winning with a “20/10.”
Tinder agreed with her assessment apparently and she tweeted this the next morning:
i wrote this bio blacked out and woke up to it posted everywhere https://t.co/DOFm3jeplD
