In a disgusting turn of events, six Democrats introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump this week. This has been on the liberal agenda since the beginning and it is actually surprising that they waited this long to make it official. What is more surprising is the shocking all that has come to his defense.
Hillary Clinton, in an interview with Mother Jones magazine, stated that she thinks the “investigations to continue,” she also believes “that it’s premature [to impeach Trump.]”
Recently the Conservative Daily Post reported that billionaire Tom Steyer had launched a $20 million campaign to advocate for the impeachment of the president. He had over a million views on his YouTube ad and almost 2 million signatures on the petition. It is unclear if his “influence” could have anything to do with the process being officially started.
Steve Cohen (TN), Luis Gutierrez (IL), Al Green (TX), and Adriano Espaillat (NY) are the main sponsors of the articles. Marcia Fudge (OH) and John Yarmuth (KY) are the cosponsors. The list of charges include;
- Obstruction of justice.
- Violation of the Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause.
- Violation of the Constitution’s domestic emoluments clause.
- Undermining the federal judiciary process.
- Undermining the press.
There has actually been a lack of support from some top Democrats regarding impeachment but it is a little unclear why Hillary might be warning against this course of action. She did take the time in her interview to go after the president so she certainly had decided to support him completely;
“I don’t know how the president of the United States, with all of the concerns about the integrity of our elections, could meet with Putin just recently and basically say, ‘Well, you know, he told me again he didn’t do it,’” she said. “I can’t believe that he’s so naïve. I think that he hopes or expects the rest of us to be naïve, or at least the people who support him to be naïve. But this is a serious cyber attack on America.”
Saying that the impeachment articles are premature goes directly against statements she made last month when Mueller brought charges against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort. On her book tour she told audiences;
“I’ll leave it to the investigators to decide whether or not there was collusion or conspiracy but we don’t need a lengthy investigation to tell us that Trump is ignoring the intelligence community about an urgent threat, refusing to stand up to an adversary who has already attacked us, and abdicating his responsibility to preserve, protect and defend our national security interests. We know everything we need to know, we just have to make sure that members of Congress do their jobs and hold the president accountable.”
