It is almost laughable when the mainstream media makes comments about how childish President Trump is. They might be taken more seriously if their behavior was slightly more mature.
The Committee to Protect Journalists has decided to bestow the “honor” to President Trump of their “Overall Achievement in Undermining Global Press Freedom.” The committee handed out their “Press Oppressors” awards on Monday in a clear (and childish) rush to beat the president before he can announce his “Fake News” awards on Wednesday.

Hopefully, the committee is proud of itself because nobody else in America should be. The members of the committee wrote;
“While previous U.S. presidents have each criticized the press to some degree, they have also made public commitments to uphold its essential role in democracy, at home and abroad. Trump, by contrast, has consistently undermined domestic news outlets and declined to publicly raise freedom of the press with repressive leaders such as Xi [Jinping], [Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan, and [Abdel Fattah al-] Sisi.”
The Fake News Awards, those going to the most corrupt & biased of the Mainstream Media, will be presented to the losers on Wednesday, January 17th, rather than this coming Monday. The interest in, and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have anticipated!

The liberal members clearly think that tweeting the truth because they refuse to is worse than communist dictators who starve their people for no good reason.
Calling a media outlet fake news after they repeatedly print lies and unverified reports is definitely more of a crime than anything else in the world these days. Pay no attention to countries such as North Korea that do not allow any media outlet to say anything that isn’t approved by their dictator upon punishment of death.
The committee only gave President Trump second prize in the “Most Thin-skinned” category though. He lost that honor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Maybe putting the most number of journalists in prison in 2017 was just too much to resist. How many did the president put in jail?
Amnesty International states that Egyptian authorities are “shifting their onslaught against media freedom to the digital sphere, through the blocking of dozens of news websites overly critical of the government.”

Let’s not forget Venezuela who has shut down several television stations who were deemed too critical of the socialist leaders. To the committee, President Trump’s crimes are far more severe. After all;
“He [Trump] regularly attacks outlets and individual journalists on Twitter and in speeches, calling them ‘sad,’ ‘failing,’ or ‘garbage.’ Since declaring his presidential candidacy in 2015, Trump has posted about 1,000 tweets critical of the press.”
The fact that they can write something such as that and remain unjailed and unprosecuted just goes to prove their award is sadly misplaced.
